Add or remove people from a Google Meet video call

Add people during a video meeting

Remove people during a video meeting

Of import: You need to be in the same Google Workspace organization as the meeting organizer to remove someone from a call. For calls organized through your personal Google account, only the meeting organizer can remove participants during a video call.

One time in a video call:

  1. On the top left, tap the coming together name.
  2. On the "People" tab, next to a participant, tap MenuCustomize and control Google Chrome and then Remove.

Tip: To remove a user who called from their phone, next to the number, tap Remove.

Google Workspace for Education users: Participants (both in-domain and out of domain) removed from the meeting can't request access to join the meeting again. If a participant'due south requests to join a meeting are denied twice, they won't be able to request to join the meeting again. In these cases, the meeting organizer tin manually invite them back into the meeting.

Control access to a video meeting with Quick admission

Important:

  • Quick access is bachelor with the following Google Workspace editions: G Suite Bones, G Suite Business, Essentials, Business Starter, Concern Standard, Business concern Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Frontline, and all Workspace for Educational activity editions.

When Quick access is off:

  • Participants from your domain can automatically join the coming together using their computer or mobile device.
  • Participants who punch into the meeting using their phone can automatically join.
  • Whatever participant can dial out of the coming together.
  • Meeting host must join the meeting before anyone else tin can join.
  • Merely participants invited by the host can join the meeting without request/"knocking".
  • Participants from your organization who aren't invited must enquire to join the meeting. This includes people who want to dial into the meeting by phone.
  • People who are invited during the coming together by someone other than you must ask to join.
  • Only meeting hosts can dial out of the meeting.

Quick access is turned on by default for all meetings where host management is turned on. Workspace Admins can set the default to on or off.  After you start a video coming together, you can modify the Quick access setting as often as you need.

Tips:

  • If you turn Quick access on or off in recurring meetings or meetings that re-employ the aforementioned meeting code, the setting will exist saved for future meetings. If you plough Quick access on or off in a one-fourth dimension, nicknamed, or instant meeting, the setting will render to on after the meeting ends.
  • For meetings created from Google Calendar, invited participants can join anytime between 15 minutes earlier the scheduled time and the end of the coming together. Otherwise, participants will demand to knock to join the meeting.
